It is impossible to list the tasks teachers do and the decisions they make each day. In the context of today’s expectations and challenges, teachers feel compelled to work in ways that are not healthy or sustainable. How do we reduce this fatigue and shift from “everything is important” to actual priorities? Recognizing what teachers face and building capacity through minimalism can refocus attention on the essentials and help skilled educators remain in the profession.

It’s the right time to bring a minimalist approach into your life as an educator. Learning some principles of minimalism and using tools that will support you in this process of finding purpose, prioritizing, and paring down will help you refocus on what really matters in education: educating students.
